Buying for a Crowd:  Stocking a bar for a party or gathering can be a hit-or-miss experience. But it doesn't have to be. Here is an easy guide for stocking a bar for ten to forty guests.

If you find it easier to think about how many drinks you are likely to serve at a party, the following guide shows how many drinks per bottle you can expect to make.
For mixed drinks, you will use approximately 1.25 ounces or 37 milliliters per serving.

Here are a few Recipes to get you started:

Bahama Mama
1/2 oz. dark rum 3 oz. orange juice
3 oz. pina colada mix 3/4 oz. Spiced Rum
1/2 oz. grenadine  
Combine dark rum, orange juice, and pina colada mix in ice cube-filled specialty glass. Float spiced rum and grenadine on top. Garnish with a pineapple flag.
Chocolate Tornado
1 oz. amaretto 1/4 oz. dark rum
1 oz. Half-and-Half 3/4 oz. chocolate syrup
6 drops vanilla extract 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
8 oz. crushed ice whipped cream
Blend ingredients thoroughly. Pour into specialty glass. Top with whipped cream. Garnish with chocolate sprinkles
"Sex on the Beach"
1/2 oz. melon liqueur 1/2 oz. raspberry liqueur
1/4 oz. vodka 4 oz. pineapple juice
6 oz. crushed ice  
Shake ingredients well with crushed ice. Pour into highball glass. Garnish with pineapple wedge.

Mint Julep

11/4 oz. Bourbon Muddle mint leaves with simple syrup in the bottom of a chilled highball glass. Fill glass with shaved or crushed ice and add bourbon. Garnish with mint sprig.
1 tbsp. simple syrup
10-15 large fresh mint leaves
Golf Cocktail
1 oz. gin 1/4 oz. dry vermouth
3 dashes Angostura bitters  
Combine all ingredients with cracked ice in a mixing glass. Strain into chilled cocktail glass.
Manhattan
1 oz. Canadian whisky 1/4 oz. sweet vermouth
1 dash bitters (optional)  
Stir with ice in tumbler. Strain into a prechilled old-fashioned glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry or serve on the rocks.
Long Island Iced Tea
1/4 oz. gin 1/4 oz. vodka
1/4 oz. white rum 1/4 oz. tequila
1/4 oz. triple sec 1 oz. sweet & sour mix
6 oz. cola  
Fill Collins glass with ice. Add all except cola. Stir. Add cola to fill. Garnish with lemon wedge.

Rum Runner

1/4 oz. Spiced Rum 1/4 oz. blackberry liqueur
1/4 oz. creme de banana 4 oz. orange juice
1/2 oz. grenadine 8 oz. crushed ice
Blend all ingredients until slushy. Serve in specialty glass.
Salty Dog
1 1/4 oz. vodka 6 oz. grapefruit juice
1/4 tsp. salt  
Pour vodka over ice in a highball glass. Mix in salt and grapefruit juice.

Fuzzy Navel

11/4 oz. peach schnapps Combine in ice cube-filled highball glass.
6 oz. orange juice

 

Tequila Sunrise
1 1/4 oz. tequila 1 tsp. grenadine
6 oz. orange juice  
Pour tequila and grenadine over ice cube in a highball glass. Fill with orange juice. Stir. Garnish with an orange slice.
